When to Calibrate?
You should consider calibration or re-calibration of your color instruments upon meeting any of these conditions:
-
after purchasing a new instrument
-
after an instrument has been repaired or modified
-
when a specified time period has elapsed
-
when a specified usage (operating hours) has elapsed
-
before and/or after a critical measurement
-
after an event, such as:
-
after an instrument has had a shock or vibration
-
after exposure to an adverse condition
-
after sudden changes in the environment
-
-
whenever observations appear questionable
-
whenever an instruments values are inconsistent with comparable instruments
-
the instrument no longer accurately reads known secondary, artifact standards
